Opening a Kotak 811
Download the Kotak 811 app or visit the Kotak website. Complete KYC using Aadhaar OTP (video KYC also available for full functionality). The account opens within 5 minutes. No branch visit required, no minimum balance needed.
What the statement shows
The Kotak 811 statement format is the same as a standard Kotak savings account. You get date, narration, debit, credit, and balance columns. UPI transactions appear clearly. The only difference is the account type designation in the header.
Limitations compared to regular accounts
The 811 account is a Basic Savings Bank Deposit account (BSBDA). Without full KYC, the account has a Rs 50,000 balance limit and Rs 1 lakh per year total credit limit. After full video KYC, these limits are removed and you get full savings account functionality.
Downloading statements
Open the Kotak Mobile Banking app. Go to your 811 account. Tap "Account Statement." Select the period and download. The process is identical to a regular Kotak account. The statement is a clean PDF that works for most verification purposes.
